This is the most overpriced store I have been to in years. Academy used to be the flag ship of affordable outdoors fun . Bass pro shops is drastically more affordable (5-10 miles away on alico rd .) My experience was in the ammo section the sticker shock on just winchester primers and ammo I'm buying else where for $10 cheaper give or take a few beans.

The cashier Miley-Marie was friendly and very funny. She kept up with my bad dad jokes which is always appreciated. Miley-Marie was also very knowledgeable and quick making the checking out process a snap. She definitely deserves some kudos, she is a great worker!

As a Charter Captain who shops here multiple times per week and buys fishing gear in bulk, this experience has been extremely disappointing. I know I’m just one customer, but consistent service like this will push people away. On several occasions, I’ve asked for help spooling reels and was told no one knew how to do it. I’ve even been sent home after purchasing line, being told someone could help, only to find out that wasn’t the case and having to return everything. That level of service is frustrating and unacceptable for a store that sells fishing equipment. Tonight was no different. I came in ready to purchase a reel and stood by the display for 5–10 minutes. Employees were gathered near the register, clearly aware of me, yet no one approached or offered assistance. I eventually walked out with money in my hand, ready to spend, but no reason to stay. At this point, I would only recommend this store if you plan to grab something quickly and leave. For anything fishing-related that requires knowledge or assistance, the experience has been consistently poor. You’re honestly better off going to Bass Pro Shops if you need real help or knowledgeable staff. The only helpful employ

Went to buy my son a soccer ball. I paid in cash I received my change and left the store. Once I got in my car my husband said I grabbed the wrong soccer ball that’s when I noticed I did not receive my receipt. Walked inside to exchange the ball with the correct one. I approached the cashier who helped me she was a bit occupied but I did tell her she didn’t give me a receipt. Another cashier called me over to help. I explained my situation and he tried to help but with no receipt it was hard. I turned to let Bri know again she didn’t give me the receipt she was very rude and went on about how I was the one at fault for not selecting my receipt option on the pinpad although I paid cash so I had no reason to touch the pin pad. She then brought over a pile of receipts from the trash can for me to look through since she claimed I didn’t grab it myself. Contradicting the fact that she said I didn’t select how I wanted my receipt. I was embarrassed crying sorting through the trashed receipts so the new cashier can help with my exchange. Only for her to reprint it from the cash register I paid at. I have never felt so embarrassed and humiliated at a store.at the end I was able to get my i

Another Great Academy Sports with sakes Today so I grabbed a travel shirt 50 % off. Great signage here in all departments of clothing, sports equipment, and all things out doors. Great large signage and white signs with black letters on sake items. Double automatic entry doors. Venue is accessible with wide aisles, soft music, readable signage, and most items within reach. Accessible Heights payment counter. Wheel chair shopping carts and power carts.
